Belper Players is a dramatic society whose aim is to educate its members is all aspects of theatre arts, whilst putting on entertaining performances for the general public.

We also try to have a good time in the process!

We usually to put on two or three plays a year, varying from classics such as Shakespeare, to more lighthearted farces and the odd pantomime.

We tend not to sing - focussing on plays rather than musicals.

There's also the opportunity to get involved in smaller pieces of theatre. We do the occasional murder mystery and were involved in the Belper Short Play festival.

We perform at the Strutt Centre, but also use the The Lion Hotel, and have performed outside at the Belper Memorial Gardens.

When we have a production running we rehearse twice a week on Monday and Thursday nights.
