Mixed Doubles is a series of 8 short plays on the theme of Marriage by different authors including Harold Pinter, Alan Ayckbourn and Fay Weldon. Each play portrays marriage at a different stage of life. Taken together, the programme presents an acidly humorous image of marriage from the moment of blessing, through the silver wedding anniversary and on to comfortable old age. The characters in Mixed Doubles appear to be plagued by everyday trivialities, their pasts, their jobs, and their marital problems.
